Employment Opportunities
We are hiring:
1) Licensed Therapists -- for Individual and Family Therapy.
2) Clinical Mentors
3) Tutors - tutors should be able to tutor a wide range of subjects from the elementary school level up through high school level subjects as well as be versed in organizational and time management skills (Licensed Teachers are highly desired).
Currently we are offering part-time positions with hours primarily during after school hours and on weekends.
Requirements:
1) To be a therapist, you must be a licensed psychologist, counselor, therapist or social worker in DC, MA, and/or VA (LICSWs and LPCs are strongly encouraged to apply).
2) To be a tutor/mentor, you should have some graduate work experience or equivalent work experience as well as have prior experience working with at-risk children.
2) Reliable transportation (i.e. a car) - the Capital Region Children's Center provides home-based services so you must be able to travel to and from different locations.
3) Strong communication skills and organizational skills--you will be responsible for communicating with both the families and the rest of the staff. Further, the timely submission of mandatory clinical paperwork is a requirement of the job.
4) You must have a cell phone and access to email multiple times a day -- we are not an office-based company, we communicate primarily via email and phone.
5) Weekend/evening availability--because of the nature of our work and the population we serve, many of our intakes take place after school and on weekends.
Although not a pre-requisite of the position, you must provide us with an FBI Clearance, DC Background Check, Driving History and a CFSA Child Protective Registry Check as part of your new-hire paperwork requirements. If you already have any of these clearances, this is a plus as you will be able to start work with us sooner. However, it is not a requirement of the position that you already maintain these clearances--detailed instructions as to how to obtain them will be provided to you if you're offered the position.
If you are interested in this position, please email your resume, cover letter and availability to the email address below. Please indicate what position you are applying for in the subject line, and if you're applying to be a tutor, what subjects you're able to tutor. If selected, we will contact you to schedule an interview.
